Matt Henderson added another feature win to the tally on Friday night at Crossville Speedway. Leading flag-to-flag in the feature he recorded his ninth triumph of the season.

His latest victory came aboard his Stanco Equipment Co. No. 17 Vineyard Lawn / CVR Race Car / Hendren Racing Engine Late Model.

“This East Tennessee scene is no joke, and on any given night there’s easily 10-12 guys who can win, so to keep taking this No. 17 CVR Race Car to Victory Lane says a lot about our team. It’s an honor for me to get to drive it,” Henderson said. “On Saturday night the Topless Outlaw event at Richmond got canceled, so we made the last-minute decision to take our No. 00 Steel Head Late Model to Lake Cumberland Speedway for their Super Late Model event. Despite being at a horsepower disadvantage we were running fifth in the feature, until we had a right-rear tire blow. Even though we had some bad luck there, we had a great time at Lake Cumberland. It’s a jewel of a track with an awesome staff.”

Behind the wheel of the Vineyard Lawn No. 17 CVR Race Car Late Model, Matt Henderson made the short trip to Crossville Speedway (Crossville, Tenn.) on Friday afternoon for the American All-Star Series-sanctioned Thunder in the Mountains. With a dash victory placing him on the pole for the main event, Henderson led flag-to-flag in the 40-lap affair to capture his ninth win of the season. Finishing ahead of Logan Roberson, Jake Teague, Brandon Williams, and Kyle Courtney, Matt earned $2,500.

After seeing Saturday night’s original plans get scrapped by weather, Henderson made the last-minute decision to head north to Kentucky’s Lake Cumberland Speedway for their $4,000-to-win, Super Late Model program. Behind the wheel of his Luke Crass Racing No. 00 Steel Head Late Model, Henderson started last in a heat race after arriving late. He charged to a third-place finish, which positioned him fifth on the starting grid for the feature.

In the main event, Henderson was running fifth before his right-rear tire expired. He rebounded to finish eighth in the final rundown.

Henderson’s plans for the upcoming weekend will likely hinge on the weather. With rain forecasted throughout the week in his area, he’s keeping an eye on the forecast. He’s tentatively slated to race Talladega Short Track (Eastaboga, Ala.) on Thursday night in the No. 17 CVR Race Car Crate Late Model before invading Thunderhill Raceway Park (Summertown, Tenn.) on Saturday for the $3,000-to-win Topless Outlaw Dirt Racing Series in the No. 00 Steel Head Late Model.
